Anita Garcia, better known as "Coco" was born on Monday, March 17, 1952, in San Martin de Hidalgo, Jalisco, Mexico. Her parents were Mr. Feliciano Guerrero López and Mrs. Dolores Zarate Mederos. She had 7 siblings: María, José, Micaelita (who died at the young age of one), Ofelia, Leonor, Alberto, and Manuel.
When Coco finished elementary school, she worked known by many as 'La Gota De Agua.' Also, at approximately 18 years of age, she studied dressmaking; which became her passion and career through the years.
In 1974 she met the love of her life, Jesus, After four years of courtship they were married on Monday, January 2, 1978. The next day they left for the United States. In November of that same year, the first of their 3 daughters, Veronica, was born. Then in June 1982 their daughter Martha was born, and in May 1987 their daughter Anarosa was born.
She was a woman who did it all, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, nina, housewife, seamstress, cook, carpenter, babysitter, nurse, and friend. She was a noble, determined, creative, intelligent, and brave person.
The day she passed away many people came to give their condolences to her husband and daughters. They were very moved by all the things they heard. They told them "Coco was another mother for me" "Coco taught me to do multiplication " "Coco helped me raise my children and that is priceless" "Coco helped me to be the man I am today" "Coco was the heart of the neighborhood, if you needed a sewing... go with Coco, if someone got sick she was there with a soup or a tea, if someone died she guided the novena of rosaries."
She will be missed by her husband, daughters, grandkids, family and friends.
